Chapelle Notre-Dame de Lorette et sa source miraculeuse pour les yeux

A peaceful spot between Remagne and Moircy, with a wide view of the Western Ourthe Valley from its rocky summits. There is a holy place dedicated to Our Lady of Lorette since 1649 by the Lords of Laval. A semicircular apse overlooks the unique nave with a square bell tower above. A hermit found shelter there at the time, as the inscription reads "Fountain of the hermit, 1646".The fountain is a basin surrounded by quartz boulders and extends under the rocks. The spring water with a concentrated iron content has the power to cure eye diseases. According to the writer Jean-Luc Devivier de Fortemps, it also became a place of pilgrimage for the cure of anaemia and fever, or to protect against heavy thunderstorms.A cult. Even if the original cult is now less fervently transmitted... Many people know the existence and the story of this miraculous spring. This place of pilgrimage is very popular on the third Sunday of May.(Source : Maison du Tourisme du Pays de Saint-Hubert)

Basilique de Saint-Hubert

The Basilica of Saint-Hubert is a place of pilgrimage in honour of Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters, and is recognised as an exceptional heritage site in Wallonia. It seduces the visitor with its majesty and elegance. Although the first foundation dates back to the 9th century, the current building was mainly constructed in the 16th century. The basilica, a true lesson in the history of architectural evolution, recalls the Romanesque style, the abundant Gothic and the Renaissance; the baroque of the façade from the beginning of the 13th century contrasts with the interior where the light gives all its intensity to the colours of the materials. The church’s Flamboyant Gothic apse was built between 1526 and 1564, and its Baroque facade was built later, between 1700 and 1702. The oldest part of the building is the Norman crypt, dating from 1064. Inside the church are stalls dedicated to St Benedict and St Hubert, a shrine donated by King Leopold I of the Belgians, and an altar dedicated to St Hubert.
